When we are interested in the life of a commune, housing proves to be an interesting theme revealing the characteristics of the population. In Banyuls, according to the latest figures from INSEE (2017), we notice that there are as many primary residences as secondary.
As for the Tourist Office, it tells us that in 2019, 70% of tourists were accommodated in non-market housing (second homes, furnished in the home or family).
These two indicators reinforce the city’s desire to make each inhabitant tourists of our own territory to then become its first ambassadors.
