Le Port

Sailors of all horizons, drop anchor in Banyuls!

Sheltered from the winds, the port of Banyuls welcomes you for an unforgettable stopover.

Last stop before Spain, the Port of Banyuls is installed along the Allées Maillol, where artists and nautical professionals have installed their workshops.

Only 12 nautical miles from Cap Creus, it is the ideal starting point to discover the magic of the landscapes of the Côte Vermeille: the terraces of the famous vineyard, while throwing themselves into the sea, cut out the cliffs to form tiny creeks where it is good to laze.

In winter, it is the only port on the Côte Vermeille where you can go out to Cap Béar with a small boat.

Port des Terroirs

Thanks to a joint action of the Port, the Municipality and the Tourist Office, united in a perspective of sustainable and harmonious territorial development, the port of Banyuls is also turned towards the riches of the hinterland, notably through the project “Port des Terroirs, Comptoir Culturel”, launched since 2006 with the Union of Port Cities of Languedoc-Roussillon.

This project aims to develop, with other Mediterranean port cities, an itinerary of cultural counters as invitations to discover the history of the maritime routes.
Moreover, since June 23, 2008, Banyuls can be proud of being the first Odyssey City. This European program completes the Port des Terroirs by relying on the historical and cultural role of the port to link the sea, the city and the hinterland.

In concrete terms, itineraries linking the port and the hinterland have been set up, and punctuated with interactive terminals that give you, thanks to multimedia content, the keys to a better understanding of the richness of the thousand-year-old terroir.

Our technical team and the staff of the Harbour Master’s Office will welcome you and remain at your service throughout your stay.
