Before the arrival of summer, the Friends of Alain Marinaro have invited the Sostenuto duo to the Salle Novelty on Sunday 7 June at 6pm.
The challenge set by flutist Marie-Laure Bouillon and guitarist Benoît Roulland is to give a new lease of life to the jewels of classical music. And the magic happens thanks to a lively and accessible oral presentation of the works, offering listeners the keys to listening. And it's all thanks to two unusual instruments. Marie-Laure plays an ebony and silver flute made for her by a renowned American manufacturer. Benoît has a 7-string guitar made by an inventive luthier. The result is a beautiful fusion dynamic and an artistic strength mingled with fervour that enthrals the audience and sometimes moves them to tears... As for the programme, entitled 'A carefree evening at the court of Frederick II of Prussia', it borders on the spectacular: there's no way we're revealing it!
