    Look out to sea to see the boats arriving with the smugglers who have come to bring their cargo. Then mingle with the crowd of Banyulencs, join in the merry-go-round of happy locals and, at the end of the day, take part in the Republican banquet that unites the whole village on the beach.

    Come and enjoy an extraordinary experience: the reunion after the Battle of the Col de Banyuls! Dress up and join us on the beach to celebrate the Col de Banyuls and the people of Banyuls. You won't be alone - a whole team will be on hand to cheer you on.
    Dressed in period costume, join nearly 300 participants in this incredible adventure: a day in 1793 in Banyuls de la Marenda after the Battle of the Col.
    Show, concert, songs, sardanes, smugglers, Catalan boats, old trades, meals... The day will be told to you and the life of the people of Banyuls in 1793 will hold no secrets for you!

    PROGRAMME

    10am and 2.30pm: Guided tour in costume led by Patricia, a local guide from the Tourist Office. Rediscover the town of Banyuls on the themes of "The legend of the Col" and "The Belle Epoque".

    From 2.30pm to 4pm: introduction to the sardana, introduction to llagut de rem (rowing), introduction to patins catalans (small single-seater wooden catamaran).

    From 2.00pm, on the seafront esplanade:
    Local produce market
    Old trades market
    Artists from Banyuls showcase their talents

    From 3pm to 6pm: Summer tour of L'Indépendant on the esplanade

    4.30pm: Ballada de sardanes with the cobla Nova Germanor, Place Paul Reig

    5.30pm: Wreath-laying, speeches and songs in front of the column (roundabout in front of the Town Hall) accompanied by the Sol de Banyuls cobla;
    followed by a procession with music in rue Marius Douzans, rue Saint Pierre and avenue de la République;

    6.30pm: Performance of "La Nostra Llegenda" by the Compagnie Théâtre d'Art, accompanied by the choirs L'Orphéon Banyulenc, le Chœur de l'Aspre de Thuir, Cantaïres de la Fossella de Cabestany, Cors Anselm de Clave, central beach.

    7.30pm: Welcome to the smugglers who arrive in Catalan boats with their booty. Take note! Plug your ears!

    8.30pm: A lively meal with the Catalan group Els Delaï (Catalan rumba).

    PRACTICAL INFO :
    - Refreshment bar on the beach;
    - Option to dine on the beach from 8.30pm with El Foment de la sardana.
