6th edition of "Banyuls 1793, la légende du col" (Banyuls 1793, the legend of the pass)

In collaboration with the towns of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Espolla and Rabos (Southern Catalonia), local associations and private individuals.

Look out to sea to see the boats arriving with the smugglers who have come to bring their cargo. Then mingle with the crowd of Banyulencs, join in the merry-go-round of happy locals and, at the end of the day, take part in the Republican banquet that unites the whole village on the beach.

Come and enjoy an extraordinary experience: the reunion after the Battle of the Col de Banyuls! Dress up and join us on the beach to celebrate the Col de Banyuls and the people of Banyuls. You won't be alone - a whole team will be on hand to cheer you on.
Dressed in period costume, join nearly 300 participants in this incredible adventure: a day in 1793 in Banyuls de la Marenda after the Battle of the Col.
Show, concert, songs, sardanes, smugglers, Catalan boats, old trades, meals... The day will be told to you and the life of the people of Banyuls in 1793 will hold no secrets for you!

PROGRAMME

All day: exhibition with Vermeil informatique (genealogy department) of the people who fought in the Battle of the Col de Banyuls

from 2.00 pm: on the esplanade: local produce and arts and crafts market.
Banyuls artists showcase their talents.

from 4.00 pm: Sardana Ballada with the Cobla Sol de Banyuls, Place Paul Reig.

from 5.30pm: Wreath-laying, speeches and songs in front of the column, followed by a costumed parade through the streets of the town and along the seafront.

From 6.30pm: Theatrical and musical performance "1793, La Nostra Llegenda" by the Compagnie Théâtre d'Art with 1 opera singer, 3 choirs and 6 dancers from the Joventut de Perpinyà on the central beach.

From 7.30pm: Arrival of the Catalan boats and the "Contrebandiers" (smugglers) in the Bay of Banyuls. Warning: Plug your ears!

from 8pm: Meal organised by the Foment de la Sardane on the central beach.

from 9.30pm: Concert by Julio Leone and his musicians, Place Paul Reig.

10am: Guided tours in costume led by Patricia from the Tourist Office.
Rediscover the town of Banyuls on the themes of "La légende
du Col" and "La Belle Epoque". Registration at the Tourist Office.

2.30pm to 4pm: Demonstrations and introductions to llagut de rem (rowing). RDV under the arcades.
