But no, I lost a bet with some friends last night so I assume, I go with them to the Madeloc tower to admire a “sunrise”, they told me that it was beautiful, that I had to see it ! Well, for the moment I can’t see anything, I’m walking in the dark and I’m cold…
We made a part of the journey by car since Banyuls to park a little below the Madeloc Tower, on the D86. 20 minutes of walk, that should make it. It’s windy but on the way up, the cardio is already working! The bluish light clears up little by little along our ascent and we breathe the fresh air, that makes good. Equipped with headlamps not to deviate from the way, we guess the silhouette of the tower which grows, we approach slowly but surely. From this moment, I say to myself that the spectacle is perhaps worth it, and I forget already that the alarm clock was difficult this morning!

Randonnée Madeloc Lever Soleil (8)The funny thing is that when I arrived at the bottom, and throughout the day, I had several requests from my entourage on Insta who want me to show them this place with this amazing 360 degrees view, same, with the sunrise and everything… I feel like I will come back a few times… and I like it! Do it again, just for fun!
We arrive at the top, we are in the timing: the sun is just about to come out, it is a question of some small minutes I would say. The ascent was fast in the end and now: place for the breakfast! We pass the thermos with a well deserved hot coffee and some pastries, to share a moment of simplicity in front of the horizon. That’s it, it comes out, it warms us already and illuminates our eyes; the silence settles down… The colors change every minute, every second even: there are some clouds, but not too much: blue, purple, orange, yellow, red, combinations of colors which seem infinite to me… and we are alone to take advantage of this magnificent spectacle, really alone in the world! I understand better the excitement that my friends had last night when they told me that I absolutely had to go with them this morning! It was actually a wonderful gift they gave me without realizing it, I’ve never been so happy to lose a bet!

Randonnée Madeloc Lever Soleil (5)The picture is just beautiful, you can see the sun going up by sight and the “Golden Hour” only lasts a few minutes, you still have time to take a few pictures to immortalize the moment (and show off a little on Instagram! I put the alarm clock at 5 am during my vacations, it is absolutely necessary that the whole world knows it!). This moment is suspended out of time, and I think: this show, however ephemeral, must be completely different every day… Let’s take a few more pictures before going down to the car, it’s a new day starting. Full of energy, today we’re going to enjoy it to the fullest!
The hike is 20 minutes long and is therefore accessible to anyone who can walk during that time. The trail is not accessible to strollers or wheelchairs.
