Screening of Marie Monique Robin's film "From Resistance to Resilience". Ungersheim, a German village twinned with Amélie Les Bains, in energy autonomy. In the presence of Marie Monique Robin.

2 April at 8.00pm, Salle Novelty, free admission

Ten years after the filming of Qu'est-ce qu'on attend? which was shown in over 1,000 cinemas, we returned to Ungersheim. An international champion of towns in transition, this small Alsatian community has succeeded in its challenge of achieving energy self-sufficiency (electricity, heating), while at the same time strengthening its food self-sufficiency, with the help of an agricultural board that now employs four municipal market gardeners, and a community grocery shop housed in a positive-energy building. Thanks to its tree and hedge planting programme, the area has also become a biodiversity hotspot in Alsace.

Marie-Monique Robin's new film, entitled "From resistance to resilience", tells the incredible story of how Ungersheim has come from the rejection by the local council of a plan to build a "Pierre et Vacances" holiday resort, which was supported by all the elected representatives in the region, to official recognition of the exemplary nature of the town, which now inspires the policies of the Mulhouse conurbation and far beyond. With a strong argument: the town has not raised taxes since... 2003 !

A real breath of fresh air to be enjoyed without moderation in every commune in France, on the eve of the next municipal elections!
