It's official: in September 2025, our town nestling between the sea and the mountains will become the venue for a world open-water swimming event.
The OceanMan is coming to Banyuls-sur-Mer for an exceptional event, the first of its kind in France.
Hundreds of passionate amateur swimmers will set off from our beach to take on the Mediterranean, in an atmosphere where sport, surpassing oneself and the beauty of the coastline are one and the same.

The OceanMan is coming to Banyuls-sur-Mer for an exceptional event, the first of its kind in France.
Hundreds of passionate amateur swimmers will set off from our beach to take on the Mediterranean, in an atmosphere where sport, surpassing oneself and the beauty of the coastline are one and the same.
It's an internationally recognised event that crosses continents... and will be stopping here in 2025.

No excuses, Oceanman Banyuls offers several race formats to suit different levels of ability:
Sprint - 2.5 km (called Sprint or Oceanman Sprint)
Half OceanMan - 5 km (half of Oceanman)
OceanMan - 10km (longest distance)
- Plus :
OceanKids - 500m (children's race)
OceanTeams - 3 × 500m relay
OceanFins - 2km with fins
