Thanks to you, this event has become a key time for raising awareness, mobilising people and sharing ideas.
Today, the town of Banyuls-sur-Mer is taking things a step further. Convinced that our region has "gone green", we have chosen to integrate our approach into a wider dynamic: the Fête de la Nature, a national event that celebrates biodiversity and local initiatives.
This means that :
- Our environmental commitments are still alive and well;
- Our environmental commitments are still there, more alive than ever; Nature-related events and highlights are being maintained, including the large-scale rubbish collection in all neighbourhoods, but redesigned in a new format, open to new audiences and partnerships;
- Banyuls is now part of a national network, to further promote our commitment to environmental responsibility.
In other words, the green is still there, but it's blossoming in a new way! We're not turning the page, we're continuing to write it.
PROGRAMME
From 21st to 25th May
Sur nos chemins" photo exhibition by the Banyuls Images association (15 photographers), Mairie garden.
Exhibition of photographs of landscapes, local and departmental flora and fauna by around twenty photographers from Banyuls and other members of the Banyuls Images association.
Wednesday 21st May
- 3pm: Guided tour of the Wintrebert garden by Benjamin Falgas from the Biodiversarium (places limited)
Discover the tropical garden of the Villa Wintrebert, a haven of peace "out of sight, out of mind".
In the heart of Banyuls-sur-Mer, this secret garden invites you to enjoy a timeless experience. A veritable green lung, it tells the fascinating story of Paul Wintrebert, a visionary who combined science and citizenship. Come and step through the gates of this unique and rejuvenating place, and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
The garden is home to an astonishing variety of Mediterranean and exotic plants, some of which are collectors' treasures. You'll marvel at the rarity of certain species, the majesty of palm trees that are probably a hundred years old, and the harmony of a French-style layout that enhances every corner.
- 8.30pm: Screening of the documentary "Vivre avec les loups" by Jean-Michel Bertrand, free admission, Salle Novelty, with Cinémaginaire.
The director talks about wolves in a totally new and unexpected way. There will soon be wolves all over France. So we have to learn to "live with wolves". Going beyond polemical posturing, the author takes us on a sensitive and cinematographic journey through the nature that surrounds us and the animals that inhabit it: roe deer, chamois, ibex... Jean-Michel Bertrand takes us on a journey of surprising encounters, both human and animal, in his inimitable style, taking us on a journey of naturalist and philosophical reflections on nature.
