Unavoidable

The Underwater Trail

Installed, in summer, at the start of Peyrefite beach within a sheltered bay, the underwater trail is visited by swimming on the surface equipped with a mask, snorkel and fins. Along a marked course, and in a few meters of water, you thus explore the small rocky bottoms to discover the beauty of the local Mediterranean underwater life.

A fun ride …

The underwater trail was designed not only to meet the motivation of visitors according to their age and culture, but also to accommodate their availability. The trail can remain a recreational and original stroll, but it is also intended to be an educational space dedicated to all sea enthusiasts.

…Suitable for all

Located in the Marine Nature Reserve of Cerbère-Banyuls, at the level of Peyrefite beach, the underwater trail can be visited by swimming along a marked course 250 m long and punctuated by 5 observation stations not exceeding 5 m in depth. At each station, a buoy, equipped with a handrail and fitted with a submerged information panel, facilitates the knowledge of the Reserve’s seabed.
