BALUDIK – Free mobile application

Innovative and fun, for young and old, it allows you to (re)discover the territory, its heritage and its actors through a treasure hunt in the city.

Pierre, a 14 year old teenager and sculpture enthusiast, will take you on a journey that lasts between 1h15 and 1h30. The trail can be downloaded and used offline. You have to follow the clues to move around and answer mini-games to develop a playful content that allows you to discover the history of Banyuls-sur-Mer. The departure is from the Tourist Office. Go quickly download it!

N.B. : there is also a route in Cerbère, Argelès-sur-Mer, Sorède, Laroque-des-Albères, Palau-del-Vidre, Elne.

Visit the seafront to discover the close ties that have been woven between the Banyuls people and the Mediterranean. Let us also be interested in how the inhabitants have known how to exploit the Mediterranean climate over time. On the program: tramontana, sun and fishing.

 

Thursday, February 24 and March 03 at 10:00 am: “Aristide Maillol”

In the discovery of Aristide Maillol. A stroll through his hometown to discover his sculptures and anecdotes but also stories of characters who crossed his path.

Discover our vineyards while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, with a glass in your hand! Back at the Domaine, learn more about the particularities of our wines and taste our work!

L’Instant Chocolat Domaine Madeloc Come spend a gourmet moment around Valrhona chocolates and Banyuls in three colors; while discovering the cellar, its wineries, and the particularities of our domain. 8€ /pers. (On reservation) Duration: Approx. 1h30. Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 11am and from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Saturday from 10am to 11am and from 3pm to 4pm.

Immersion at Domaine Madeloc Come and visit our cellar, its cellars and discover our way of elaborating our wines, learn the peculiarities of our vintage, then taste our work! 6€ /pers. Madeloc Estate

Initiation to the terroir Domaine Madeloc Discover and taste the wines of Collioure in three colors and the three main families of Banyuls. Free. Duration: About 20min. Wednesday and Friday from 9:30am to 10am and from 3:30pm to 4pm.

L’Art’Cherche exhibition “Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, the art of imaging science”

Since June 4, 2021, as part of the sixth edition of the Art’Cherche and the celebration of the Bicentennial of the birth of Henri Lacaze-Duthiers and 140 years of the Arago Laboratory, the Oceanological Observatory is pleased to present on the Albert Sagols esplanade, in partnership with the City Council of Banyuls-sur-Mer, the annual and unpublished exhibition “Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, the art of imaging science”.

2021 is the bicentenary of the birth of Professor and Academician Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, one of the most eminent zoologists of the 19th century. Founder of the biological station of Roscoff and of the Arago Laboratory, and author of more than 250 articles and books, he carried out remarkable works in particular on the red coral and the purple.

About Maillol

Aristide Maillol (1886-1944), internationally renowned sculptor was born in Banyuls.

(Re)discover his work through the tour “In the footsteps of Aristide” which winds through the typical streets of Cap d’Osna, former fishermen’s district, where he lived.

 

Once the tour is over, stroll through the city to admire his sculptures exposed in the open air.

There are 7 of them, can you find them?

 

And to complete your discovery, go and visit the Maillol Museum, an old farmhouse in the back country. A real haven of peace where Maillol had installed his workshop.

There is nothing like taking a deep breath of air and discovering Banyuls in all its forms! A multitude of trails for all levels are available to you in Banyuls and its surroundings.

Ideas for family hikes or for sportsmen: Sentier du Littoral, Cami d’Anicet, Sur les crêtes du Vall Pompo, Les balcons de la Côte Vermeille, Les sentiers de la Liberté, Chemin des crêtes, etc.

Geocaching

On the road to adventure. Put on your hat, your backpack, your hiking boots: let’s go on some life-size treasure hunts! Millions of cleverly hidden treasures (called geocaches) are hidden in almost every country in the world – and therefore in and around Banyuls-sur-Mer – and are just waiting to be found. Some of them are probably even hiding near you! Is this your first time? This application will guide you through your adventure to find your first geocaches. You’ll find tips, tricks, instructions for geocaching and how to use the app.

For the little ones, the Carousel at the Mediterranean Space will be open daily through March 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Diving

Every day, the diving centers welcome you to offer you various activities: first dive, snorkeling, training… there is something for all levels! Diving is also accessible to beginners.

Go and explore the underwater treasures of the Banyuls-Cerbère Reserve.
