For 4 days the city of Banyuls-sur-Mer celebrates the bicentenary of the birth of Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, founder of the Arago Laboratory, now called the Oceanological Observatory of Banyuls.

From July 1st to 4th 2021, the bicentenary of the birth of Lacaze-Duthiers will be celebrated with exhibitions, conferences for the general public, a virtual scientific seminar, animations and educational workshops, at the Oceanological Observatory of Banyuls-sur-Mer (ex-Laboratory Arago), at the Biodiversarium but also in the city. The personality of Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers will be highlighted, as well as his scientific works and achievements.

During this celebration, the past and current research activities of the Observatory will also be presented, because 2021 is also the 140th anniversary of the creation of the Arago Laboratory by Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers.

The conferences will take place in the amphitheater A. Guille (E. Chatton building) and will be broadcasted live on the Youtube channel of the Observatory.

The number of places in the amphitheater is limited, the reservations are closed. If you do not have a reservation, you will be able to attend the conferences in the amphitheater according to the available places.
