Monday, December 20:
– Battle Archery, free animation for teens (from 10 years old) and adults, from 14h to 17h, central beach (gym if bad weather), proposed by the Committee of festivals.
The Battle Archery que es aixo?! It is a fun activity, as much for children as adults, in the same spirit as paintball, but with bows and arrows with foam tips that can not hurt. Two teams of 1 to 6 players compete on an outdoor field.
– Karaoke night at Jordi’s Skating Rink Gourmet Village! From 19:00 in front of the Tourist Office. Organized by the Skating rink of Jordi and Ascension Flamenca.

 

Tuesday, December 21: Giant wooden games, from 14h to 17h. Free, esplanade of the waterfront.

Waiting for Santa

Friday, December 24:

– From 11:00 : at the gourmet village, offered by El Foment de la sardana, central beach: “Tió de Nadal” (Christmas log).
In the Catalan tradition, children beat a wooden log singing the “Caga Tió” so that it offers some small surprises. “Tio, Tio, Caga turro, no caguis arengades, que son salades, caga torrons que son molt bons”.

– 12:00 : Contest for the ugliest Christmas sweater, organized by the Festival Committee, at the gourmet village central beach. Additional information: 2 categories: Children up to 12 years / Adults. Possibility to parade alone, in duo or group.

From 3:30 pm (originally scheduled for 4:00 pm) : downtown: Strolling and street show “Pacchy, the elephant dance” with the Company Les Enjoliveurs (circuit: Novelty &gt room; esplanade of the sea front).

– 17:00 : Arrival of Santa Claus by the sea in a Catalan boat (depending on weather conditions), Santa’s procession to the Gourmet Village of Jordi’s Rink with distribution of sweets and drinks.

 

Saturday, December 25: Big Christmas rifle by the associations Mar i Munt and L’Ouranole, 3:00 pm, Novelty hall.

– Rifle of yesteryear in multiplex in the bars-cafés of the village, 15:00, organized by the Committee of Festivals.

Sunday 26, Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December :
– Demonstration and introduction to line dancing (country) at 12pm and 5:30pm at the Jordi Skating Rink gourmet village, activity offered by olive oil producer Olivier Borrat.
– Quiz around the olive oil in the gourmet village of the Patinoire de Jordi, activity proposed by the olive oil producer Olivier Borrat.

– Taste workshop for children from 3:00 to 4:30 pm and aioli competition from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the gourmet village of the Jordi Ice Rink, activities proposed by the olive oil producer Olivier Borrat.

Great Merchant Christmas Game

From December 1 to 21: Great Christmas game of the Union of Merchants and Artisans of Banyuls. The UCAB organizes in collaboration with the two clubs of elderly Banyulencs a Christmas game for children. Game in the shops from 1 to 21 December 2021 19h00.

“This year, Santa Claus has a problem to prepare his distribution of gifts on December 24.

Indeed, the 10 Snowmen in charge of snowing the runway for Santa’s reindeer have been kidnapped by Bruixamoche, the wicked witch. Santa asks the children to help him find them by investigating the shopkeepers whose posters are stuck in the window. They must note the name of the shopkeeper who has a White Snowman. Then they will have to deposit the entry form in the ballot box before December 21, 5:30 pm at the Tourist Office and they will receive in exchange an invitation for the draw and the tea party on December 23. You will be able to benefit from the help of Santa’s elves, who will be present at the market on Sunday, December 19.

Free game, with no obligation to buy, for children, until December 21.

Pick up a game ballot at the Tourist Office or in participating businesses and drop off your completed game ballot before December 21 at the Tourist Office.

Drawing in the Hall Mairie on Thursday, December 23 at 14:30 with a snack.

And while you roam the streets of downtown in search of snowmen, why not enjoy a good snack?! Pancakes, waffles, ice creams, hot chocolate, pies, etc. many cafés, restaurants or snack bars are open in the afternoon. A gourmet break is guaranteed!

For the 1st time, PEP’S 66 is offering a TABATA DANCE workshop followed by a STRETCHING session during the Christmas vacations.

BALUDIK – Free mobile application

Innovative and fun, for young and old, it allows you to (re)discover the territory, its heritage and its actors through a treasure hunt in the city.

Pierre, a 14 year old teenager and sculpture enthusiast, will take you on a journey that lasts between 1h15 and 1h30. The trail can be downloaded and used offline. You have to follow the clues to move around and answer mini-games to develop a playful content that allows you to discover the history of Banyuls-sur-Mer. The departure is from the Tourist Office. Go quickly download it!

L’Art’Cherche exhibition “Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, the art of imaging science”

Since June 4, 2021, as part of the sixth edition of the Art’Cherche and the celebration of the Bicentennial of the birth of Henri Lacaze-Duthiers and 140 years of the Arago Laboratory, the Oceanological Observatory is pleased to present on the Albert Sagols esplanade, in partnership with the City Council of Banyuls-sur-Mer, the annual and unpublished exhibition “Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, the art of imaging science”.

2021 is the bicentenary of the birth of Professor and Academician Henri de Lacaze-Duthiers, one of the most eminent zoologists of the 19th century. Founder of the biological station of Roscoff and of the Arago Laboratory, and author of more than 250 articles and books, he carried out remarkable works in particular on the red coral and the purple.

About Maillol

Aristide Maillol (1886-1944), internationally renowned sculptor was born in Banyuls.

(Re)discover his work through the tour “In the footsteps of Aristide” which winds through the typical streets of Cap d’Osna, former fishermen’s district, where he lived.

 

Once the tour is over, stroll through the city to admire his sculptures exposed in the open air.

There are 7 of them, can you find them?

 

And to complete your discovery, go and visit the Maillol Museum, an old farmhouse in the back country. A real haven of peace where Maillol had installed his workshop.

There is nothing like taking a deep breath of air and discovering Banyuls in all its forms! A multitude of trails for all levels are available to you in Banyuls and its surroundings.
